TX land commissioner funded by PERRY! LOLOL
Just saw it on CNN. This dude's political campaigns were funded by Sam Perry. This is too good.

4. He's also saying that the Swifties have a right to advertise
And he's a spokesperson for the Bush campaign! Does that mean that Bush is flip flopping over the 527 ads?

14. Hence, Patterson IS acting in an official capacity for BC04.
And therefore, the campaign is apparently changing their position on 527s.

This is a MASSIVE FLIP-FLOP. We have to call them on this.

17. he was called this morning by somone from the B/C 04 camp...
and they drafted and signed the letter, and sent the little messanger boy to deliver it. instead of the shrimpchimp coming out to face Senator Cleland himself.

18. yep
He didn't say they "signed the letter." He said they "agreed to have their names on the letter."

I am SO SORRY that CNN cut away from this guy. Damn! I'll bet he dug the hole even deeper.

19. To recap...
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 01:23 PM by ApolloCreedLives
-BUSH/CHENEY drafted the letter that Patterson (and some other veterans) signed.
-The letter, and the statement by Patterson, defends the Swift Boat Liars right to speak against
-Meaning...the Bush campaign is defending the Swifties advertising, EVEN THOUGH BUSH SAID THAT HE WANTS ALL 527s TO STOP.

That's a flip-flop of monumental proportions. So now the Bush/Cheney campaign is defending these ads even though they supposedly want to end all 527 ads.

They are literally coming apart at the seams. I feel like I'm in the front row of a Gallagher Concert and he's just about to hit the big watermellon. Duck.

22. Hmmm, interesting. A developer funding the Land Commissioner.
What a coincidence, a land developer funding the land commissioner's campaign. Gee, I wonder how many of said developer's, or his competition's development projects have required a ruling by said land commissioner, or how much inside info may be discussed over cocktails.

How conveeeenient!

O, for the intrepid investigative reporter, here is a juicy tidbit!

25. Real estate is real estate
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 06:54 PM by steviet_2003
I know this is not the point of the original post, I looked up the texas land commissioner office and what it oversees. Basically they oversee all land owned by the state, including leasing of oil, gas, mineral, timber and grazing rights. They also SELL state land.

Land Sales

The Asset Management Division sells and leases many different types of properties periodically throughout the year. Please follow the link that describes your interest.
COMMERCIAL NON-COMMERCIAL
- Office - Ranch Land
- Retail - Agricultural
- Industrial - Recreational
- Other - Tax Foreclosures / Family Lots

Summer 2004 Real Estate Sales

and http://www.glo.state.tx.us/land/realestate.html

Seems like they make most of their cash by determining the oil and gas leases, but ANY state land commission is in the business of buying and selling, mostly to developers.

BTW: personal attacks are against the rules.

Also, welcome to DU, assuming you're not a lurker.
