The Media are like Sharks
It's true.

They got the whiff of blood in the water with the houses scandal, and they went into a frenzy.

It takes that sort of thing to get the media to go full bore over anything. They need that smell of blood. They have to sense something so over the top that it has to be covered. Then they push push push.

We saw it with Wright. We even saw it with Rezko to a degree, and even with Ayers. The media smelled blood and they pushed. Same thing happens when McCain throws out an attack ad.

But those were minor cuts with the whiff of blood in the water.

With the McOpoly houses, it's as if McCain has had a leg torn off and an artery is pumping blood in the water.

And now, anything that McCain screws up will gain focus because he screwed up so huge once already. The blood is in the water, and the sharks must feed.

4. McCain was not smart in blaming the media either about the
"cone of silence." NBC especially, has been very kind, propping him up since the beginning, ignoring gaffes, not airing any negatives re McPOW. Then for his campaign to write that letter to Capus was like a slap in the face to them. Andrea Mitchell is among the first to, at least to me, indicate enough already! Perhaps the "powers that be", the corporate owners like GE are beginning to see the writing on the wall. McPOW = Loser. One thing I have admired about the Obama campaign, no drama, no whining. Hopefully the media will now start to turn, at least be fair to Obama, that's all anyone could want. Good post of yours, thanks.

9. They Were Looking For The Chum and The Chump
I think there's a co-relation between Camp Gramps attacks and how this story is starting to gain not just legs, but a body...Gramps pissed in the media punchbowl and now they're gonna make his life hell.

It's not Gramps lying but that they've caught him "in-between"...he dared them to go after this story and they did. They've got him dancing to their tune...now let's see how this gets turned around. Yep, this was long overdue, but it took something this silly to put a bigger light on how inept and slimy Gramps has begun. But Gramps asked for it. He baited a lot in the media recently and this was one lie, one hedge, one snub too many.

As we've seen time and time again, the corporate media loves to build ya up to tear ya down...and maybe this was long overdue. Gramps got two months of a free ride to make him "competitive" and the moment he took a "lead" in the polls, it was time for the beltway pundits to put him in his place. Will this last? It depends on how Gramps handles this. He better coem clean about the houses and fast (just like Obama had to renounce Rev. Wright)...playing his POW card won't cut it here...and if anything that could make matters worse.

Stay tuned...

10. Yeah, sharks tend to also eat their own once they go into a eating frenzy.
Perfect analogy.
