2. Yes. And no.

It is incredibly impressive, I have to admit. Beautiful concept, design, etc. But, a part of me wishes we'd have been able to do a podium that helps actually address some issues and not just provide a rock concert backdrop. I mean, our message is about inequity, wasting resources, politics as usual -- and we spend a gazillion dollars on an energy-sucking bit of frivolity that helps no one and will just be gone in a week.

Of course, if we had tried to be more suitably austere, the Republicans would have hammered all over us that we're full of malaise and would have labeled the convention as they did Jimmy Carter's cardigan sweater speech. Oh well...can't win for losin'. The podium really does kick ass. I hope it works.
