Surprise At the Democratic Convention: Republicans
I wonder if the DNC has something in store for the GOP to chew on:

Republicans for Obama (or RFO).

RFO has been a growing movement. More and more Republicans are coming out against John McCain every day and throwing their support behind Obama. And how powerful it would be to counteract the "Joe Lieberman" presence at the RNC by having not one, not two, but several high-ranking or former high-ranking Republicans declaring their support for Obama. A crowd of tens, maybe even hundreds, would be a huge statement. I can see Phil Butler (the famous POW-mate of John McCains in Hao Lo prison) giving a speech with the crowd of RFOs behind him.

The message: This is No Longer About The Partisan Politics that has Destroyed Washington. America faces serious problems and we need to work together to solve them. And Obama is the only choice for President who can do it.

Yes, that would be delicious for us. And quite a bitter pill for the RNC to choke on.

I wonder if all those GOP Senators who aren't going to the RNC are not going to the RNC due to scheduling conflicts caused by the DNC?

2. Man, that seems like a no-brainer
I hope they can at least get a few to do it. Guess a lot depends on how those people see such an act affecting their political futures.

3. We can hope. It would be a slam dunk if they did it.
