the deeper meaning of the text

I think what Obama's doing with this text (besides compiling an awesome text list to be used later for a variety of purposes) is to send the message that the power and information is in our hands, not the presses. We will know first. We are the ones we've been waiting for.

I was watching Obama's 1995 interview where he talks about his book and his general philosophy over at Youtube, and I was struck by how consistent he has been about the grassroots and how that is who can change things for the better. That was 13 years ago before he ran for any office, and that philosophy is still the one that he operates on. Books will be written about this man after he and we are long gone.
