Heard at the Obama office in Denver:
Bruce Springsteen might be performing at Mile High.

The staffer said it is unconfirmed so not to spread it around. And of course right after confirming all my credentials, I came here to spread it around.

I don't know if this is a silly rumor that isn't gonna happen or one of those rumors that we really are supposed to spread around to get folks excited.

So take it for what it's worth. Anybody here with connections in the music industry?

1. nope but just saw Springsteen in Hershey Pa Tuesday night.
He played half man, half monkey and dedicated it to the Dover Pa people.

and the second this year. It was my second time. Saw him in DC before.

2. I heard that they're going to set up a time machine....
...to transport the entire convention back to June 5th, 1984 so the attendees can watch the lads of U2 play at Red Rocks.

8. I'd go for that. Even if Bono did look kinda like a...
stuffed sausage. 80s attire just didn't sit well on him.

15. I was there (Red Rocks) last week....
...it was on the list for 1984, and I was perplexed by that too (seeing as how I had the album 'Under A Blood Red Sky' in 1984).

20. Under a blood red sky
I was AT that show.
I bought two tickets even though I had never heard of U2.
I was standing in line at a Ticket-Master outlet buying tickets to see The Pat Metheny Group at Red Rocks a few weeks later.
All these mohawk wearing pseudo-punks talked me into getting two seats for the U2 concert too.
Best impulse move I ever made.

It was nice all day, and then hours before the start of the show, one of those weird Denver, Colorado fronts moved in.
Temps dropped significantly, and it got cold and humid and it was borderline raining.

They tore it up.
Bono was just a kid.
I can still see him waving that flag, and the steam coming off of The Edge as he ripped through New Years Day.

I'll take that memory to my grave.

23. I saw them in the rain, too - in '87
Went by myself - my date decided he didn't want to bother, and I was NOT going to miss it. So I stood there outside, in the rain. Terrific show - so glad I went! And Steve Van Zandt opened - better yet for me!

4. A new campaign slogan
I want to guard your dreams and visions
Just wrap your legs round these velvet rims
And strap your hands across my engines
Together we could break this trap

12. That's my favorite. Talk about an all American rock and roll dude... Talk about
somebody who has always known about hard working folks.

Nice to dream about, even if it doesn't happen.

work out before he can do it.. I can understand that they wouldn't want to overhype something that might not happen

But then he couldn't be "The Boss" anymore.
He'd have to be "The Vice Boss".

21. Saw him at the "Concert for Change in 2004, raising money for Kerry.
REM played to, along with John Fogerty, and a few more guests.

All McGoo can get is Kid Rock and Ted Hugent.
