finish my coffee, turn off this damn laptop and go for a nice long Kayak. Things are moving along nicely for we, the progressive and enlightened and hopeful - the political world will go on just fine without microattention. Go do something Saturday-ish today, relaxed in the knowledge that our party is in competent, adult hands. The attacks will come, the debates will come, November will be here before we know it....but let it come!

As Wireman told Edgar in Duma Key....do the day, and let the day do you...

1. Right on. It's time to get our ground game on.
Turn off the tv, go outside and get out the vote.

3. Agreed - but my main point is to step away a bit and remind yourself of what we are
fighting for. So much is being taken apart by Bush....so I go out and remind myself of the state of nature and what would happen to it with 4 more years...THEN I go out and get the ground game on. Perspective is a valuable thing!

4. I'm doing my part to boost "consumer confidence"....
I'm hitting the mall to celebrate! I can see the headlines now:

"Biden helps Obama on the Economy: Consumer confidence skyrockets!"

:hi:

6. Y'all are lucky
I'd rather be doing something fun like a kayak ride or shopping, but I have to mow and trim and clip hedges. Ugh!!! Even though we've had no rain for a week, my yard is starting to scare me. Oh well. Weeds wait for no one.

11. Sorry Raleigh.
Or should I say congratulations?

Our company has been laying people off at an obscenely fast pace for about a year now -- almost as obscenely quickly as they hired them 3 years ago, but that's for another discussion -- and so far I've been "lucky". I don't know, though. It seems like my friends who were laid off are happier than I've been in years. They all received decent severence packages and were eligible for unemployment, and they don't have to deal with the nonsense anymore. Maybe I should strive to be on the next cut off list. Might help my ulcer.

10. Nice, I like it.
I met friends for a celebratory breakfast, went for a bike ride and am about to turn on some soothing music to take a nap. I got about 5 hours of sleep last night.
