Obama/Biden = The Resurrection of the Legislative Branch.
The last 8 years have seen the Legislative Branch, what was once a co-equal branch of the US government, stripped down to nothing more than an ineffectual bunch of poo-flinging, politically-posturing, pandering pussies.

2 Senators on the ticket. One, with more experience in the Senate and more foreign policy experience than McCain (his "biggest" forte) and the other a young, magnetic man whose very name signals change at a time when that is the one thing most people can agree we truly do need.

Furthermore when I hear statements, like the one from Lugar, praising the choice of Biden, it makes me think that there are many on the other side of the aisle in the Congress/Senate that will be pleased to see them restored to their former status while the Executive Branch is paired back down to pre-Bush proportions.

2. Lugar praised the selection of Biden? I am not surprised to hear that -
As much as I dislike Dick Lugar, I've always given him credit for seeing Evan Bayh for who he is - and is not.

And your post about needing to restore the power of the legislature is right on target! It will be interesting to see how/when Obama gives up the executive powers that Bush accrued.

And the first executive branch with a blog, I think.

Accountability should be redefined with this one as well.
