1. Wouldn't matter. No way could she come across as actually KNOWING
what she was talking about. Biden, on the other hand...

4. Biden will definitely be more comfortable with any material
But remember that if she has the questions ahead of time, she could spit out a first response that sounds plausible to voters who are on the fence.

When savvy operators get in the clinches, they can come across as believable.

I hope that the format allows for back and forth between the two candidates so lack of depth is obvious. I want to see her sweat it out.

2. I heard rumor
that McCain demanded that the two formal debates be seated debates.

Does anyone know if it's true that McCain insisted on that?
Does he have problems standing for long periods or is he concerned about looking like a shrimp?

6. I read that here a while back
If that's the format, Obama needs to sit up straight. He often leans in a little in a cordial manner. But I've noticed that McCain sits up very straight - maybe to appear taller. So I hope Obama takes note.

3. Yep. They will have her cramming for 3 weeks beforehand.
Of course she will have the questions before hand.......and she'll land a duzy, and she will be proclaimed the winner.

The expectations will be set very low for her. If she even gets it 1/2 right, she will look like a saint.

13. I heard one pundit say that if she just stands toe to toe with Biden,
and doesn't cave, she'll have won.

Sadly, that may be an accurate prediction.

5. I may not have read it fully or correctly but
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 08:33 PM by 4themind
where does it say that she'd get the questions before hand? That would be ridiculous, has that ever been done before for a presidential debate? I mean, a "Meet the press" like interview would be more spontaneous than that

7. I'm asking how people feel about the possibility
In this country, at this time, with the MSM being owned by the right wing and PBS not as liberal as it used to be - it's not ridiculous for cheating to happen or to speculate about it, imo.

11. The Faux spin hosts decided that Bush won the first debate with Kerry
The one where it seemed like Bush had the earpiece. Of course they will say that Palin won the debate.

15. I believe so unless she has the questions ahead of time
In that case they could give her some clever lines or some in-depth thoughts to regurgitate.

17. I have a lot of confidence in him
It may not be so if it were anyone else. But I have lots of faith in Joe's ability. When he looks at her eyeball to eyeball it'll make her upper lip start to sweat.
