THE PALIN PREGNANCY CONTROVERSY: WOMAN'S RIGHT TO CHOOSE
I have realized just now that the Palin pregnancy issue highlights perfectly EXACTLY the pro-choice position women all over have been standing for. Palin's daughter has CHOSEN to have her child. What if we lived in a country where women who got pregnant out of wedlock had to have an abortion? What about a government that would prohibit carrying children with serious disabilities to full term? The Greeks didn't think that was a good idea, and we all think theirs is the greatest civilization ever.

Women need to be able to CHOOSE. That means whether to have it as much as whether to not. It is their CHOICE!

The Evangelical Christian viewpoint is unbelievably narrow-minded and based solely on a religious point of view. A Vice Presidential candidate with the most radical Christian values would -- if elected -- set women's issues and the right to choose back at least fifty years.

This election isn't about Palin's daughter. It is about my daughter and my granddaughter, and yours too.

1. My guess is that, in this case, mom chose for her.

3. Yeah, I wondered whose choice it was

Do most 17 year olds want to have a child under those circumstances? (some do but many don't)

And lets face it, mommy would have probably kicked her out on the streets if she hadn't 'chosen' to keep it.

2. I have argued for years to the anti choice crowd: Nobody is lining up the pregnant
women and frogmarching them off to the nearest abortion store

This isn't China the wonderful world of only one child, where it is anticipated there may not be enough women 20 years from now because their society is still so male fixated they actually do select for gender, routinely.

This election has always been about the Supreme Court ..not just for this issue although it is key, but for so many other issues.

The ultra right religious viewpoint in any society will inevitably have a "My Way or the Highway" mentality. Always has.

4. Absolutely right, especially in light of the fact that the Republicans just passed
a platform to outlaw ALL abortions, even in cases of rape and incest.

The battle is now joined, no more obfuscation.
