The kid aren't playing nice and They sent him to his room without supper.
If MSNBC wants to win ratings - Let Olbermann run the show and get out of his way

As network anchors head to St. Paul after covering Hurricane Gustav from the Gulf Region, MSNBC announced that Keith Olbermann will remain in New York to await the next hurricane (Hanna):

One person not returning from his Hurricane Gustav coverage location will be MSNBC's Keith Olbermann. Olbermann led coverage last night from New York, and will now co-anchor prime time convention coverage from MSNBC HQ with Chris Matthews at the RNC.

An MSNBC spokesperson tells TVNewser, "Since the next hurricane may hit on Thursday night, Keith will remain in New York. But, he'll co-anchor with Chris who will be on our Rice Park set."

MSNBC tells the Huffington Post, "Keith has anchored numerous breaking news stories over the past five years, including coverage of Katrina."

On Friday, the New York Post's Page Six reported that Olbermann is increasingly worried about his security, and refused to attend the RNC in St. Paul unless MSNBC offered him a more secure location to broadcast from:

1. I hope someone is keeping count of the number of Dems/liberals vs. Pukes on MSNBC this week.
They always had plenty of Repub commentators during the Dem convention. I bet there are many fewer Dems commenting at the RNC.

4. I'm okay with it.
From what I have seen up until now, the hostility towards the real journalists, from the RNC and the authorities, and the ghoulish spectre of the convention itself, I think KO will be freer to report the truth from New York than from there. Let Tweety keep his head up the Repuke's asses like he always does and let KO and Rachel tell the truth from NYC.

I can imagine what his email is like sometimes. We get a little taste of it here when a freeper troll leaks through.

20. In Denver he might as well have had a bullseye painted on him...
The MSNBC broadcast location was a 2 story affair, out in the open, 4 blocks away from the tight security at the Pepsi center with an unimpeded view from the thousands of new condo's on the Platte and all of downtown. If I'd been getting death threats I wouldn't have liked the location either. Plus did you see the crowds that they encouraged to come right up to the broadcast center? You didn't need a credential to get there like you did at the Pepsi Center. Any nut could have walked up and......

I would guess he did'nt want to hear all the bullshiit that the thugs would be frothing at the convention. Can't balme him either, wise choice.

Let 'em do whatever the hell they want, I'll watch 'em both.

Shackling them like this just piosses me off and makes me not watch for a week.

17. Well, it's probably for the best
I really doubt the number of people watching the RNC convention will compare to the number that watched the DNC's. I'd rather have Keith on hand to keep us informed during this stormy season.

22. Olberman is not a serious journalist. Tom Brokaw, I suspect, has had a hand in benching Olberman.
Classic case of a sports jock who suddenly thinks he IS the team.

Rookie mistake.

24. I really don't want to keep fighting about Hillary, I want to point something out though...
Republicans HATE Keith. There is a recent pattern of crazy Republicans picking up guns and going after low level or media Dems. MSNBC likes to put their pundits on streetcorners surrounded by crowds. I really don't think it was safe for Keith to be sitting on the street at an RNC convention.

25. What does Hillary have to do with this? Olberman is not a serious journalist and he's been benched.
Not sure where you get the Hillary thing.

Olberman is a sports-jock who grew too big for his helmet. Tom Brokaw is a GOD to NBC. Tom Brokaw went on record as saying that Olberman has crossed the line with his over the top cringe inducing Murrow impersonations. I believe Brokaw's words were "I think Keith has gone too far."

Olberman got benched. I think he's ridiculous. I think Bill O'Reilly is ridiculous. Neither can claim to be a journalist.

He only won a freaking Edward R. Murrow award.

I wouldn't want god knows who standing behind me if I knew they hated me.
