Who's Still Happy That We Had A "Kinder, Gentler" Convention?
Cause ya know what? The favor is not being reciprocated and no one is going to help. They are going to attack for a week straight and there will be no counter to any of it. Kerry's time in the spotlight is over and he has nothing to show for it.

10. Me too. If the Dems had pulled this crap I'd be ashamed to be one of them!
It's just one more of the many differences between the parties. To be a Republican these days you have to either lack intelligence or compassion or both.

They are shameless and unbelievably ugly. Don't forget, the danger of fighting monsters is turning into one (think abu gharaib). Nice that Kerry hasn't turned into a monster...

6. Excellent!
Let the hate emanate from them. Let it spill out all over the convention floor and through the TV sets. I hope they continue it, non-stop. I hope this convention shines the light on the true face of the Republican Party.

9. It's a question of which the media would have used against us more
They were playing "gotcha" anytime a Democrat came close to "Bush-bashing," and they pretend no issues were mentioned. If the Democrats had done what the Republicans did tonight, they'd have been killed by the media.

But no matter what disgusting lows the Republicans sink to, the media will claim success for them.

11. if we tried what the repugs just did
it would've gone over even worse, the Scarborough's, Matthews, Banres, Hannity's and Hume's of the world would've completely torn us to shreds, the rest of the "librul media" would've just nodded in agreement and we would've left Boston with Kerry losing 3-5 points. The media doesn't seize on any distasteful bashing by republicans, but they do on Democrats.

Kerry's time in the spotlight is not over. Let them attack all they want, and then let's settle in for two months of talking heads and, of course, the debates.

Ours inspired hope and the Republicans inspired fear for the future. I'm pretty sure that another few days of this and they'll turn off every undecided voter in this election.

In a few weeks, Bush will have to face Kerry 1 on 1....that's when his bubble gets popped.

23. in one way, we look good
I have thought about this alot. Today, I went nuts watching only a few minutes of the RNC. I couldn't believe the lies! They weren't even discussing what the Dumbass will bring to the US, only how bad Kerry is! I was so angry! I thought to myself why did the DNC allow such a "nice show" to take place? However, it was a prudent move..appear gentle, appear passive....NOW, we need to strike and strike hard! We need to take them to task! We need to strike in ways that make them scream for us to stop!

I try not to be a violent person, in word or deed. However, I draw the line at personal attacks! I chose my DU name because it reprints what I feel. The Ageis is a shield, it is to protect from attack. What makes the Ageis different from any other shield is that it is also a weapon as it will reflect any attack against it back to the attacker! The democrats need to do the same, they need to allow the lies to flow back to the attackers! We have no need to cause fear or hate, we have truth on our side. However, truth does no good if it is not used!!!!!

Brightest Blessings!

our convention was classy, it wasn't trashy and hateful and I think in the end we will come out ahead because of that. I loved Al Sharpton's speech, he was the only Democrat that really bashed the repukes and all he got was slammed for it by the the commentators and the repukes claiming we were hateful. Now the nation will see who is really hateful and it isn't the Democrats.

28. Excuse me...
Yeah...we had to introduce Kerry...but why did we stop there?

We introduced a Viet Nam Vet to a "undecided" populous that wasn't even born then, and problably was out of class room on the 2 days that they discussed it in American History...if they even got past WWII.

What has Kerry been doing lately? Nothing was said...It was all about "reporting for duty". And lets get serious. The wounds for those of us who are old enough to remember are scarred over, but not yet healed for many. He was bound to take a few hits for the anti-war stance that he took and that could not help but come up because of all the time they spent on it...

I remember Clinton's conventions...Granted some of what they were trying to do never got done, but at least the put forth a vision. What we got was a vision of Viet Nam vet wanting to be president. And if that's the basis that I'm gonna choose on.. (which its not) I think I'll go with McCain or Cleland before I go with Kerry.

Regardless of the "Tone" of our convention which I agree was compasionate and uniting...I think we missed a big opportunity to show the big picture. Made Kerry too much of a man, too big of a target, and still too much of an enigma.

Can we order a side of Kerry? And Jumbo Size it please!

29. Thanks, deakonblues2k.
You put into words what I was feeling. The DNC convention was too much of a Kerry biography, and too little of "what Kerry will do for America?"
