Tonight, Senator John McCain is set to address the Republican National Convention. Meanwhile, the man who led the charge smearing Senator McCain during the 2000 Republican presidential primary is turning his sordid political attacks against John Kerry.This new round of attacks comes from a familiar name -- Ted Sampley -- who has a long history of irrational public attacks against both John McCain and John Kerry. In 1992 Sampley created a fake photo of John Kerry shooting an American MIA. He has been jailed for starting a fight with John McCain's staff, and has called McCain the Manchurian Candidate, accusing him of being "brainwashed by the Vietnamese" and being a "KGB spy."

I was going to start a thread titled "What ads I would run if I ran MoveOn.org." The SBVFT started running ads attacking Kerry, and the Republicans have justified the attacks saying that it was Kerry who made an issue of his service in Vietnam. If I ran MoveOn.org i would run ads with family of 9/11 victims and NYFD members criticizing the Bush administration for stalling and stonewalling the 9/11 Commission, and say that Bush isn't serious about protecting America from terrorism, but is serious when it comes to covering his own ass. If the GOPers cry foul, say that it was W that made an issue of 9/11. Someone please start a thread on this!

McCain defends Kerry, calls detractor 'dispicable'

WASHINGTON - Sen. John McCain defended a fellow Vietnam War veteran Friday by attacking the credibility of a North Carolina veteran who has dedicated himself to defeating Sen. John Kerry in his presidential campaign.

McCain, R-Ariz., called Ted Sampley "one of the most despicable people I have ever had the misfortune to encounter."

14. Umm, clearly you don't get the post or the message from the Kerry Campaign

The message isn't to "BURY MCCAIN" - It's to point out the nutcase Sampley (another SwiftBoat Liar) and to make a phone call to the GOP/RNC office to ask them to have Bush meet the request of McCain to state finally that the ads from the SwiftBoat Vets opposed to Kerry get pulled.

How you came up with "BURY MCCAIN" is probably explained in the fact that in one week of joining the DU, you have over 200 posts and are a "Newbie"....the question is what kind of Newbie? Freethinker, or lurking plant? Hmmm....
