Just was listening to Imus and they were talking about how he is now officially "undecided" in the presidential race. Last time I listened, he was for Kerry. What happened???
For a while I was checking out Imus when it appeared he was getting pissed off about the lies of this regime and their tactics in supressing both the media and free speech...items I would think would mean a great deal to him. Sure enough for the next month...especially while Howard Stern's story was hot...Imus was bashing this regime as were his bunch of laughing hyenas. But I sensed it was more just on this "they're trying to shut us up" thing than on principle.
The show still panders to neanderthal Clenis haters and Imus' "support" was based on Kerry being "a friend"...meaning he would call into the show. I don't think Kerry has appeared since the primaries.
Some may remember, Clinton used Imus and visa versa quite effectively in '92. Clinton would appear on the show regularly and even did a call-in from the Oval office in the first months he was in office. He pandered big time to Imus but that all changed a couple years later at the Washington Press Club dinner where Imus (many say still drunk) made a total ass out of himself. Since then he's come out as a Repugnican.
Imus shares a lot of the same audience Rush does...so he's not gonna stray from that demo too far...especially since Imus doesn't know what his new bosses at Viacom (Mel Karmazin...his & Stern's big protector...is now gone) and that may have some play in this as well.
most intelligent political comment usually involves him calling someone a moron or jerk. That is commonly followed up with a stupid racist joke by Bernard.
he actually influences the election process...and says so repeatedly. What I just can't understand is that many "heavy hitters" from the political arena and broadcasting area call in to his show. I guess they think they are "cool" when they toady to Imus. He and his group always sound like a group of junior-high school show-offs to me.
16. That brings up another question that I have about Imus...
Why do US Senators, TV newsanchors, influential journalists and other people who could appear on any talk show in the country call in to Imus, who often is rude and abusive to them (and everyone else he comes in contact with)?
