Is it just me or is Guliani a real joke?
His entire National political career is based upon 9/11.

His speech last night was as dishonorable as anything John O'Neill has said.

4. Really, more of a fascist Mussolini style
I don't think he had any real beef with the Jewish population in NYC.

5. I disagree. He was a very good mayor of NYC and was
pretty in touch with people. I thought he handled 9/11 very poised. Hell, if I were him, I would've curled up in the fetal position and started sucking my thumb. Leaders handle adversity no matter what.

10. I've never heard a New Yorker who thought he was a good mayor.
He did rise to the occasion on 9/11.

But now he's supporting the election of the little pissant who ran from adversity on that day. In fact, if the idiot had done his work before 9/11, that day might have just been another beautiful autumn day in the big city.

18. Rudi was good for NYC, be sure of that.
Its his actions AFTER he left office and joined the national GOP nonsense that's troubling.

There were a lot of shady aspects to him and his governorship of NYC, like all big city mayors. Look at Chicago's currently Daley for an example.

Daley and Rudi are (or "were" in Rudi's case) just mayors of their respective cities. Their party is incidental, Daley isn't very Democratic like in some areas and in others he is. Just like Rudi's tenure in NYC. Rudi has a surprising progressive streak. But when he left office and hitched his wagon to the GOP elephant train, that's when he changed for the worse and became a whore for the circus masters.

Its a pity, I used to like Rudi (having lived in New York State for most of his tenure), now I despise him.

6. He's a loser
I'll give him a little credit for backing the 'broken-window' theory, but most everything else cancels it out. The media loved him for showing up for work on 9/11. Time magazine even made him man of the year. What a bunch of cowards. Osama should have been man of the year of course, because of HELLO 9/11, but Time violated their own guidelines of who influenced the world for better OR WORSE and decided to pile on the media lovefest.

I don't think he has a future in politics, if that's any reassurance. He's just too creepy. Besides, he isn't far right enough to be a Republican.

15. A Moment's Hesitation
Rudy hesitated a moment as he commented on how big the construction worker's ... uh, arm was.

Wonderful film, but a despicable character.

17. They don't know him
The reality is that most people know only the 911 Rudy. They know nothing about his three marriages, infidelities and the horrendous way he treated his ex-wife. Personally, I think he is a disgrace of a human being. When folks outside of NY learn about his piss poor treatment of his family they will be astounded. I don't see how any woman could vote for him

12. Rudolf Giuliani hates the Constitution and
suspended its protections as often as possible while mayor. He was repeatedly taken to court and lost.

Since he took office in 1994, the NYCLU has gone to court against his administration on 21 occasions to protect First Amendment freedoms. The NYCLU has, so far, prevailed in full or in part in 18 of the 20 cases, with no decision in two cases.
http://archive.aclu.org/library/ycl99/art.html

He withdrew from the race against Hillary Clinton because polls showed that the more upstate people saw him, the less they liked him. When it was clearly unwinnable, he withdrew citing prostate cancer which had actually been diagnosed earlier.

His bunker at 7 WTC was roundly criticised and was un-usable on 911.

14. albeit one I can't laugh about
His dragging the 1972 Terror attack on the Olympics into the current situation is just plain tasteless (as much of the other fearmongering).
Doing so with a statement so limited, that I call it false is hard to stomach.

VERY successful. So without 911 he'd be another NY schmoe.
