Barack did a great job on Letterman tonight! I admit I didn't search
every post here, but I did a quick scan of the recent ones and didn't see any congrat posts! It's true that Letterman didn't smack him with any hard questions, but I was pleased with everything I heard from him tonight!

3. It went smoothly which is all we can ask for

at this point in time! Obama and Dave were good together. I had just gotten through reading the current Rolling Stone interview with Dave Letterman and other comedians on the front and there he was with Obama as his guest!

They were both charming and interesting..I didn't start watching until Midnight so I'll have to catch the first part on video.

6. I expected it to be very smooth. Dave is able to ask serious and light questions
at the same time and make it very seamless; and after watching Sen Obama for all this time and Dave for years, I expected them to have rapport, not be overly silly or overly serious. Just right for the underinformed potential voter.

Best part is the amount of time Dave gave him. Even Al Gore didn't get that much time when he was already Vice President (although they were incredibly silly the time Al put on the safety goggles and smashed the ashtray)

7. I've never liked Letterman all that much but I liked the way
he treated Obama and he seemed genuinely impressed with him. Obama seemed very relaxed and natural like he always does. The questions were good. Letterman is as good at asking the political questions as any of the current political hacks, even though he doesn't think he is.

And Obama is gracious, throwing in a compliment here and there for Letterman, Bush, Giuliani. Makes you like him even more.

4. Senator Obama always does a good job, if anyone would listen.
I'd like to hear from DUers in swing states about ads running and local news coverage of Obama events vs. McGeezer's events.
