Poll question: Do you know what the Bush doctrine is?
Simple question to see if DUers are also qualified to be President.

Of course, *I* am not running for the vice-presidency.

2. My God, it is what has driven us mad for over nearly six years.
it was the entire "justification" for the Iraq invasion.

3. Preemptive war. I thought all Republicans knew that, at least.
Why does Palin think we invaded Iraq? Maybe she thinks Saddam Hussein was responsible for 9/11? Maybe she just didn't care.

5. Everyone's going to say "yes". But, to be honest, I had to look up to see what it had become.
It's not as simple just as "harbor someone who threatens us and we can attack you". It's become quite complicated (or so I gather from the Sunday shows over the years). It always just seemed to be an ad hoc justification for their activities.

So yeah, I'm not really sure that I completely understand it.

6. Which one?
The one where he can make up reasons to invade foreign countries, or the one where the Constitution is just a goddamned piece of paper?

9. Yes. It's a constantly-changing self-serving proclamation by * that says "we can do anything and
nobody can do a f*cking thing about it."

It's not just one thing. First it was the justification for invading Afghanistan for harboring the Taliban. Then the phrase was used to justify invading Iraq "pre-emptively" to depose Saddam, a perceived future threat. It was also used to describe supporting "Democracy" world-wide, and ultimately used as our justification for acting unilaterally to do basically anything we want in our own self-interest.

It's a giant pile of total bullshit.
