"In what respect, Charlie?"
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 01:06 PM by marylanddem
Another poster mentioned a one-liner from the Palin interview - she said people in her spouse's office are answering each others' questions all day with "In what respect, Charlie?" - so, though I couldn't bear to watch the whole thing, I did find this clip.

1. Someone could do a clever YouTube starting with that clip...
...and showing regular people using that expression in all kinds of situations ~ the phrase would go viral!

3. Simple. You respond, "In what respect, Charlie?"

The more I listen to it the funnier it gets.

7. I thought she resembled a clever 5th grader
asked a question by his or her Social Studies teacher and not having a clue, trying to bluff his/her way out of it. But definitely on a level of a 5th grader! It made me gasp it was so bad.

9. Notice what Palin does when she's stumped???
When she doesn't even understand the question, Palin reverts to default drive--expressing the
horrors of Islamic extremist terrorists who want to kill all of us.

When you don't know what in the hell you are talking about, divert attention with fear and
scare tactics.

Works every time. Just ask George Bush.

14. I agree...
Everyone knows she's not ready to be vp, or p.

This is what makes her such an absurd candidate.

It's one thing to disagree with Bush, Cheney and McCain on their policies
and beliefs, but it was always understood that they were qualified to
hold office. They all are.

Sarah Palin is a freak show. She is unqualified and unprepared to be
President, and she's not going to get a free pass with the tactics that
the seasoned, qualified candidates used.

When you bullshit, without the experience--you look exposed.

A couple more weeks of this, and she'll be done.

If they try to keep her in a bubble, she'll tank even further.

13. Damn she's awful
Everything - words, intonation, body language, sincerety, all wrong

You could just see the lack of qualification oozing from her pores.

19. I disagree. ABC is playing the shit out of it on the evening news and..
...on Good Morning America. Those are the only kinds of news shows low information voters DO watch (especially GMA).

22. "I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because...
uhmmm, some people out there in our nation don't have maps and uh, I believe that our, I, education like such as, uh, South Africa, and uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uhhh, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, should help South Africa, it should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for us.”

Oh my god, Sarah Palin is as stupid as Miss South Carolina. "In what respect, Charlie?" She had no fucking clue what the Bush Doctrine was. And she's the vice presidential nominee of the GO-fucking-P.
