Sen. Kerry calls McCain's campaign moves today impulsive and erratic.

"The American people need to hear from both candidates,” said Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), the party’s 2004 presidential nominee. “This notion of rushing to Washington and grandstanding, frankly, is I think inserting presidential politics right into it. It’s silly and impulsive and erratic and doesn’t do justice to the process of running for president.”

Kerry noted that McCain doesn’t even sit on the Senate’s Banking or Finance committees."

And, you know, Senator Kerry knows all about Republican grandstanding and scare tactics- having experienced them himself first hand in 2004. Now, however these same devious maneuvers played out by the McCain camp this time do seem ridiculous, over the top and down right silly. The American people have wised up, they aren't going to fall for this BS again.

1. Democratic surrogates need to get out front with this message.
McCain is "grandstanding". What he's doing is "silly and impulsive and erratic an doesn't do justice to the process of running for president." John Kerry got it exactly right.

5. McCain seemed to want to project hysteria today.
I have been watching this situation closely, but McCain's moves had me very concerned at first. I was beginning to think maybe I wasn't viewing this seriously enough. Then I realized this have been a repeated tactic of McCain's, grandstand- do something outrageous and turn the attention onto him.

3. This is so sane
and McCain so insane today. I'm glad Kerry pointed out that McCain does not sit on either the banking or the Finance committee. (he's kind enough not to remind people that McCain said he doesn't know much about economics.) What would he do in DC? The committee and their staff will write teh bill.

Obama's and his contribution is the joint statement that Obama wanted.

7. I agree. What can McCain possibly do?
He can urge support of a bill and fly in to vote on it. He doesn't need to really be in Washington other than to make it look like he is really doing something and to take part in photo-ops.

4. He is not even on the committees!
What a freaking loser! That means he is going back for a vote. Just a vote. Loser.

15. "It’s silly and impulsive and erratic and ...
doesn’t do justice to the process of running for president.” --John Kerry

:patriot:

It reminds me of the Schiavo thing when Frist went overboard in the Senate and Bush ran back to DC to sign the legislation. Silly. Impulsive. Erratic. And the result was unjust for the families.

18. You are correct. And, Sen. Kerry's comment that you referred to rings so true.
Oh, to have real leadership in the White House. No more games and grandstanding- just doing the peoples work.
