Poll question: Mercurial McCain's next shocking move: Dump Palin?
I've been saying this since he first chose her and everyone's pooh-poohed the idea. But now that you've seen the amazing turnabouts and twists and turns he's been willing to perform, coupled with Palin's PATHETIC beauty-pageant performance on Couric, what do you think now?

Chances that McCain will dump Palin before the election:

1. No chance.
It was not for him to pick her, it's not up to him to dump her.

3. He's stuck with her.
1) It might be too late to change the name on the ballot in some states.

2) Replacing her would be an admission that his original decision was reckless -- which alone would be fatal to his chances.

3) Who is he going to get to replace her? Who wants to play runner-up to Sarah Palin and board McCain's sinking ship?

10. Ditto what you said.
McCain took a huge gamble in picking Palin.

Huge gambles pay in hefty dividends ... or they result in devastating losses.

Oops.

5. He would if it could help him win the election
But it wouldn't. McCain is toast now. No matter what he does.

6. I think Palin might want to quick. I also think they are shielding her from
reporters so SHE will not know the truth
my proof.
When Palin was asked about Rick Davis's envolvement, continued envolvement, with Fannie mae
Her answer was I hope this is not the case,
paraphasing:
I hope this is not the case, because John and I both have been very outspoken against lobbist.

I know she is a bigfat liar, but she also has her contradictory convictions. I think she i going to discover McLame is too corrupt even for her

8. Kay Bailey H just said she will not run for Senate again.
Speculation is that she'll run for Governor of Texas?

9. He CAN'T - it's NOT up to him..
The PARTY picks the Veep after he nominates someone. They'd have to go back to Minneapolis and have a "do over" convention - he can't arbitrarily fire her because her legitimacy comes from the GOP, not McCain. The best he could do is ask her politely to leave - don't hold your breath though...

In short he's STUCK with her.

12. And if he asked the party for permission to dump Sarah, the reply would be "you first"

11. We're laughing, but the freepers love her
... and the fundies love her. In their minds, she's giving common sense answers to a media that;s out to play gotcha.

As long as she motivates their base to go out and vote, they've accomplished their goal. Neither Mittens, nor Fred, nor Rudy was going to do that.

Seriously, you've got a better chance of McSame stepping aside, Palin going to the top of the ticket, and Newt going on as veep.

13. When she debates
at least McCain is going to be able to compare himself to her and come out favorably. That's one plus.

14. Unless Biden gaffes it up.
We all know he's smarter. We all know he has unsurpassed foreign policy knowledge. But the man has a bad case of foot-in-mouth disease.

15. Dump her, no. Hide her, yes.
This whole "postpone the debate" game is really all about keeping Moosealini away from any possibility of answering actual questions on the issues.

She looked ridiculous going up against Chuckles Gibson, and he's a Repuke, for fucks sake. I'm not saying Gwen Ifill is on our side, because I doubt she is. But they don't seem to want Tundra Barbie anywhere near her. Let alone near Biden.

17. Interesting results: 40% think there is at least some chance of this happening
so far. Is that unprecedented in a presidential campaign?
