If the public is now behind the bill it is because Bush looked so scared
Edited on Thu Sep-25-08 09:41 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
At first I thought Bush's advocacy was going to be the kiss of death, but he may have been just the guy for the job.

From the perspective of anyone who doesn't follow things closely, Bush showed up on TV out of nowhere white as a sheet, trembling and covered with flop-sweat, saying the jig is up for the U. S. of A..

They didn't see the hustler who sold them the Iraq War. They saw the incompetent weakling who was on TV on the night of 9/11.

The thing about Bush is this... he's a liar, but he also attracts disasters. So if he says there's a disaster it's not out of the question.

It's a fact that every time he shows up on TV something really bad happens. And it was also the first time the average viewer had ever seen Bush admit that anything was actually wrong with anything.

I'll bet some people were scared. His fear is infectious.

2. I think people know something has to be done.....
and it won't be fair and it won't be right, but it will be better than complete economic collapse.

I'll go out on a limb and predict this game playing by the Republicans will backfire on them.

4. He's afraid all these fuckups are going to be blamed on HIM
That's all - he isn't afraid for the country, he has no concept of that. He's afraid some of the criminal actions that took place under his nose are going to be revealed and his connection to these felonious activities may become public. I think the man is afraid of going to prison.

He's incapable of concern for others. If he's afraid it's because he has plenty of reason to be. He might get arrested before he gets to escape to whatever 'guay he's bought property in.

6. He was scared with good reason..... I'm scared too....

The Congressional Republicans are wiping out my 401k tomorrow... my kids' college funds... my retirement....

Hopefully I'm still employed several years from now when Obama's reforms finally kick in to recover from this.
