How the hell did that woman get elected the Governor of Alaska?
OMG...who in the hell was running against her and looked WORSE than she did in the gubernatorial debates?

:wow:

I cannot imagine stupidity as deep and totally ingrained as Palin's was not uncovered in some manner before now!

I just keep hearing more and more of her interview with Katie C and I am shaking my head in wonderment. Did McCain talk to her at all before he chose her? She cannot put a noun and a verb together in any appropriate manner in even a single sentence...if she is not reading from a script.

How in the hell could anyone ~~ even McCain ~~ miss stupidity piled this high, deep and wide?

1. You know it was awful when even the conservative chat boards aren't discussing it.

9. Could be....
..but I thought I saw a clip of her debating on some issue. Thought it was the gubernatorial race.

But...I could very well be mistaken on this.

3. I just watched her clip on the bailout
That was fucking unacceptable.

Simply and plainly unacceptable. She doesn't know what she's talking about, and the insane McCain camp's coaching is only exacerbating that fact by filling her head with a bunch of complicated concepts, none of which she understands as a concept.

This woman is simply incapable of fulfilling the duties of the Presidency. This selection was an insult to even McCain's deepest supporters. I'd imagine that even a few hardcore freepers must be getting queasy after that absolutely unacceptable performance.

repeat a few terms, but doesn't have a sense of how those terms designate concepts, or how concepts form into systems.

This woman doesn't even have a sense of the basic system of conservative thought. Say what you will about Bush: he *believed* conservative philosophy, and had at least a minimal grasp of its precept and concepts to apply them across situations. His grasp was surely limited and therefore dogmatic, but he understood the few concepts he was armed with. Palin is 100 times worse. She reads the terms off as if they were concepts. It's sophomoric. She doesn't understand that the terms designate concepts that are strictly delineated, nor that concepts form a tight system. Her answers are incoherent BECAUSE she doesn't understand the significance or systematic character of her terminologies. I am positive that some - and perhaps many - conservatives watched that display and thought the same thing. It is, after all, their system of beliefs that she's reducing to a few senseless (in the strictest sense of that word) sound bites.

It is the height of a dogmatic and stagnant ideology to produce this kind of adherence: adherence to an ideology based solely on the surface features of its concepts, and in this case, the surface features without even a surface system that would reflect the conceptual system. This is what you got out of the most dogmatic Marxists, who would read off a series of phrases without understanding in the least their significance within a Marxist conceptual apparatus. A truly frightening and pathetic display.

5. A wink and a smile.... oh, and some lipstick.
The election was a beauty pageant and she figured her "prize" was that she'd get paid to stay at home with her family. There's nothing "executive" about how she's been running Alaska. She phone's it in.. or pays someone to phone it in.

10. Why? Frank Murkowski is why.
Lowest approval rating of any governor in the country; bottomed out at 14%. Appointed his DAUGHTER to fill his Senate seat. Spent state funds on a jet that couldn't actually land at most of Alaska's airports when the state already HAD several perfectly serviceable and far more suitable propeller aircraft. He was deeply corrupt and basically had no hope in hell of re-election (which is saying something in Alaska, where it's pretty much a given that the Republican Party is corrupt as all hell and they've been sending Ted Stevens to the Senate for decades). Running as a reformer and outsider taking on the corrupt establishment was enough to win the election for her, and increasing the dividend from the Alaska Permanent Fund by a significant amount was enough to ensure her popularity.

How in the hell could anyone think there are two cells of gray matter in the woman's cranium after she opened her mouth???

15. She was able to talk the talk of a reformer, and was decently informed on local Alaska issues.
Totally out of her depth when required to give an opinion on national or international issues, though. What you're seeing is an example of the Peter Principle in action.

25. Not just Murkowski
The price of oil rose and lifted Alaska's economy with it. It's very easy to be popular when you're mailing larger oil dividend checks to your constituents.

26. I just heard her on CNN
answering why Alaska's being close to Russia gave her foreign policy experience. I wasn't watching the TV, but I heard her. I have to say, seriously, she DID sound like that bumbling beauty contestant. It really is embarrassing. And I've not been one to assume she's stupid. And I still don't think she's all-around stupid, but she certainly is having a hard time trying to answer to foreign policy experience question. She shows stupidity in that she hasn't tried some other way of answering.

Ay ay ay! I bet McCain IS regretting his choice. He knows his campaign is going down the tubes---the reason he's acting so erratically now. He's having a nervous breakdown in front of our eyes.

Who let her run Alaska? Destory Alaska (drill baby drill), destroy gorgeous wildlife like wolves and polar bears. Why in the world would Alaskans ALLOW this woman run Alaska? Look/hear how she speaks. She cannot qualify for ANYTHING. I hate her because of her cold heart...charging rape kits, etc. I hope she goes down. I don't feel sorry for her at all.
