to the meeting about the economy at the White House? Mixing his campaign with his senatorial duties.

5. I heard it yesterday while listening to AirAmerica
Now Salon.com is saying he was stopped from taking him into the meeting. I don't know how to find out if his campaign person went in or not.

he didn't accompany McCain. So whatever.

9. I don't think you understand the Hatch Act
The Hatch Act prevents civil servants from engaging in partisan political activity. It doesn't prevent Senators from engaging in political activity and it doesn't prevent non-civil servants from doing anything. And, I'm fairly certain, it doesn't apply at all to congressional staff. So basically, McCain or Obama can bring anyone they want into a meeting that isn't a "political" event and they can bring anyone they want into a political event except for a civil servant.
