I'd like to thank Senator McCain for agreeing with me that these debates needed to go on for the good of the American people.

On its surface, it's cordial enough, but just under the surface - almost on a subconscious level - the message is: Obama lead; McCain followed.

That's of course if McCain has the guts to show up tonight.
