Pelosi remembering Clinton economic plan of '93 won't give the GOP a pass
Just heard this morning on radio (CNN news, I believe)

Speaker Pelosi recalls that in '93 it was Democratic votes which passed the Clinton Economic Plan, virtually all GOPers voted against it and in '94 before the full fruits of the Clinton economy were evident the Dems lost the congress for the first time in 30 years. She apparently has put the GOP negotiators on line that NO BAILOUT BILL will pass unless it has at least HALF of the GOP members of the house supporting it, because she isn't going to allow her caucus to walk the plank again.

Keep Strong, Nancy!

1. Good. Even if they have the votes, NO PASSING until it is totally bipartisan.

3. The GOP brand needs gridlock on this to survive as relevant
Again, this whole thing is a "Hail Mary" pass to try to prevent sweeping the GOP completely out of office.

5. Good. We can't let the GOP push this mess
on Democrats. The solution must be bipartisan.

6. I remember this ... and she's right, but ....
if the House leaders weren't so tone-deaf at the time the Dems could have held on and reduced the GOP tidewave that year
