University of Miss purposing a Plan B if McCain bails debate - questions from audience for Obama

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/26/plan-b-proposed-for-mississippi-debate/

OXFORD, Mississippi (CNN) — University of Mississippi Chancellor Robert Khayat said Friday morning that if GOP nominee McCain does not show for the first presidential debate at the school in Oxford, the format may include members of the audience to submit questions to the moderator, Jim Lehrer.

Lehrer would then pose the questions to Obama. It would take on a kind of town hall format, according to Khayat.

Khayat said he will recommend that to the Debate Commission, which would make the final decision.

The debate was to focus on foreign policy and national security, but the economic crisis is likely to be a dominant issue as well.

10. As long as they agree that if at ANY TIME McCain shows up
it goes back to debate forum.

No way does McCain get to show up (surprise) after the thing starts and sit in a Town Hall meeting like he originally wanted. And no way does he get unchallenged audience face time for showing up late.

11. Let Palin debate Obama
Isn't that the job she's running for? To step into McCain's shoes in the event that he is unable to carry out his duties. Jebus. She's been in beauty pagents. She knows the drill.

An evening of watching Obama handle any and all questions that a Mississippi audience could ask him would show America what our country deserves from its President. I truly believe that Obama's intelligence, his knowledge, his demeanor, his depth -- his wisdom -- will win that Oxford audience over.

And with that, the beginning of the end of our centuries-long cold Civil War will happen.

Not a moment too soon.
