McCain camp signals last-minute arrival

Events for Cindy McCain canceled

By Elizabeth Crisp and Sid Salter

Republican Sen. John McCain had not confirmed Thursday night that he will debate rival Sen. Barack Obama on the Ole Miss campus tonight, but signs gave organizers reason to believe the event will occur.

But a McCain campaign source said early Friday that while McCain will be involved in federal bailout negotiations for most of the day, the Republican nominee is expected to fly to Mississippi at the last minute to take part in the Ole Miss debate.

2. I expect a pro-wrestling style entrance- McCain theme music, smoke ...
an announcer bellowing "Country First!" as McCain strides onto the stage at the last minute.

5. Boy is he gonna look sheepish when he gets there..
whatever is worked out in Wasihangton will be done without him, he will still have to be fighting the perception that he was afraid to show up...

McCrap is in a lose lose spot.

10. So I guess he's learned that the president CAN walk and chew gum at the same time?
I swear, didn't McCain just say yesterday that he wouldn't be in MO unless a deal was reached?

So was he just lying then?

His showing up at the debates just reveals the stupid stunt for what it is.

18. That would be great, how about " I am glad you could
show up we can rest assured everything is fixed in Washington now." Obama has to do an ad with Andy Kaufman doing his Mighty Mouse bit.

17. Great! The little man will be debating from a defensive position
his campaign's a mess, he's being attacked by everyone, his VP's a joke.

He's weak right now.
