A trap! It was a trap, I tell you!
Yeah, that naive fool Obama was just completely flummoxed by the great John McCain. He's walking into the debate tonight with a huge cloud over his head. He got suckered.

4. It is a trap... Read how Newt Gingrich is behind this...

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/09/gingrich-mccain.html

Excerpt:

"Either McCain is going to go along" with Obama in supporting the plan, said Gingrich, "in which case the establishment will have the fix in . . . or you are going to see McCain decide, much in the way that he did in picking Palin, that, in fact, he is a genuine maverick, that he genuinely defends the taxpayers, and that this is a terrible bill."

"If the latter happens," Gingrich continued, "I think you will see the emergence overnight of a 'McCain Reform Wing of the Republican Party' and you'll see House and Senate members siding with McCain by overwhelming margins and then you'll be in a very different political environment. You'll have 'Bush-Obama ads' on the one side and 'taking on the Bush-Obama establishment' on the other side, and that will be, frankly, one of the more amazing elections."

14. Obama should keep out of the fray and not take a position
I think Obama should let the folks in Washington make the decision. I think McCain lured him to Washington to force him to take a side.

Obama should say we are going to do what is best for the Country and for the People.

DETAILS MATTER ... If you say the sky is falling and you have a solution to fix it but don't explain in simple terms what is broke and why then the people will not support using their money to fix the problem.

The American people don't want to be Hoodwinked again.

I hope Senator Obama will use the debate to explain exactly why a bailout is needed and exactly what will happen to regular citizens if we do not fix this. Then and only then can the people support this with the passion that is needed.

If people know that if we do not do something that one day their ATM card will not work anymore and there will be not 1-800 number to call then they will insist that something be done. I don't think they've done a very good job of explaining the details.

Obama must tread very carefully here.
