Talk about moving the bar! McCain promised he was going to STAY in DC and skip the debate unless there's a DEAL-not unless the Repubs. in the House say they're WORKING towards a deal. If the media isn't going to call him on THIS one, what can we expect from tonight's reviews of the debate?! :eyes:

1. Politico is a right leaning website
No surprise they are spinning for McCain.

2. Martin is a McCain-loving tool. Period.
At least Ben Smith (who covers Obama) offers an occasional indepdent thought and analysis. Dismiss Martin. He's a putz.

3. Yeah, I think Politico is showing their hand a bit today.
They've been trying to frame things in a decidedly pro-McCain light in several articles.

5. His surrogates are claiming HE got the Repubs. organized and "ready" to negotiate.
What a joke!

6. No matter what McCain or Obama does, McCain wins.
If McCain doesn't debate, he wins. If he shows up, he wins. If there is a deal, he wins. If there isn't a deal, he wins. If he runs naked down the street, on fire, screaming "Gates of Hell, my frennnzzsss!" he wins (because that will throw Obama off guard, or show leadership, or something).

10. I agree...
But O/T-wouldn't it be great if OBAMA started using the phrase "my friends" tonight? THAT would shake McCain up! And it would make people laugh. :D

14. So he will be like chipmunking on the deal from his blackberry
while the debate is in progress? That might explain why he will be looking clueless the entire night.

I wonder if we will see Angry John? Will he use the 'c' word?

16. Jonathan Martin seems to want four more years of a right wing dictatorship.
More expansion of executive power. Lowering of most Americans' standard of living, while the special set, the top 2%, get more luxuries.

He's just one of those guys dedicated to the RNC proposition-- Country Club First !
