LOL Pool report: McCain's leaving for debate causes "utter confusion" Say what?
Why would there be "utter confusion?" I mean wasn't he supposed to be heading to the debate which he agreed to attend?

McCain Pool Report

McCain now boarding plane at DCA with Cindy, Salter, Rudy Giuliani, wife Judith, and other aides plus pool.

Heading to Memphis, 1:50 minute flight, then motorcade to site

General atmosphere is utter confusion.

They'll plant him front and center after the debate to proclaim that McNut won, even if he craps his Depends halfway through.

It's the only way you can fit so many into such a tiny car. ;)

I don't know what this is except damned entertaining.

His campaign couldn't get his ass into DC fast enough and now they can't get it out fast enough.

Congressional Democrats made him look like an absolute fool.

9. Positioning. Pretend negotiations fall apart without McLiar ?
That's all I can figure.

Golly, without McLame, the discussions just don't progress. But when he returns, they'll say "an atmosphere of calm prevails."

All to cover up the fact that Senator Obama has been the most presidential and calming since the "emergency" financial crisis hit the fan.

31. The confusion is among the McCain campaign as the head for the debate.
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 12:40 PM by FatDave
The story is about them trying to get their shit together as they board the plane. They're on their way to the debate, they're already winging it, and it isn't going well. He's going to step from a campaign clusterfuck onto the floor of the debate.

I have a hunch McCain's performance tonight will be so bad Admiral Stockdale will have to look away in pity.

(Edit: I hate it when people, myself included, confuse they're/their/there)

39. LOL? But...but...CNN's Ruben Navarrette just said...
(token apologist for the GOP alert!): the same "commentator" who believes McCain has won over all the Latino voters also thinks McCain has been "brilliant" about this debate waffling and as icing on the cake, Ruben Navarrette believes McCain will be deemed the "winner" (!) in this situation. Why? Is he retarded? No (well, maybe). He thinks McCain has done a great job of making Obama look like a reluctant leader, while he, McCain, has been dynamic and just plain awesome. Ruben, buddy, those are WEDNESDAY's talking points! And, you probably didn't notice, but Johnny Mac has been sucking wind for two days.

Not to worry, Democratic friends: the other 2 people on CNN just now with Retuben (which includes the anchor) vehemently attacked his assessment and pointed out McCain sat silently in a corner all day yesterday and then flip-flopped about going to the debate.

I mean, is this it? Is this the best the GOP-sympathizers can do? "McCain is winning...because I think so!"
