Obama, tell McCain tonight that the Iraq Surge failed!

If in 2003 we had gone into Iraq to stop the killing of 500 Iraqis and 50 American soldiers per week, then I would agree with McCain that we won, are winning or will win in Iraq (McCain never could settle one one tense). But when GW Bush declared "Mission Accomplished," very few Iraqis and American troops were dying. It took three years of incompetent and brutal American OCCUPATION for the casualties to get so bad. WE went in INTELLIGENCE BLIND, LANGUAGE DEAF AND CULTURE DUMB so we resorted to self-protecting BLIND firepower with a lot of collateral damage. AS more Iraqis died, more resentment fed the insurgency. Our occupation was so incompetent that Iraqis were victims of Iraqi killer gangs. Finally, we resorted to killer teams of our own that assassinated Iraqis based on rumor or finger pointing, whatever the motive of the finger-pointer. Post-surge the gangs went into hiding. But 4 million Iraqis-- best and brightest-- became refugees. So the killing
decreased-- since we don't do "body-counts" on the Iraqis our killer teams assassinate rightly or wrongly. The militias ARE NOT dead, they are laying low waiting for us to leave. Some Sunni insurgents became our guys in exchange for guns and pay. But when we leave-- now or in a decade-- the civil war will resume. Petraeus just put a tourniquet north of where incompetent commanders cut an artery. But if the blood is not allowed to flow everything will gangrene. Since Petraeus did not fix the cut artery, he did, is or will accomplish nothing. He's postponing exsanguination but producing gangrene. That is why PM Maliki told Obama that he won't sign a SOFA accord without a date certain for US withdrawal. Egyptians, Jordanians, Saudis and Kuwaitis are supporting the Sunnis and Iran the Shia militias. The Kurds are trying to use Iraq as a base to attack Turkey. Iraq signed oil deals with China instead of America. WE are bleeding $100 million a day in Iraq, so exactly what does McCain mean by WE did, are or will win the Iraq War other than we are EXSANGUINATING Iraq to death and producing GANGRENE in our heroic military?
