McCain will lose the debate.
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 12:57 PM by MattBaggins
I predict he will try to play the exasperated victim; forced to attend a silly debate, when his dear country needs his wisdom and guidance back in Washington. I really hope he starts his opening statement with reluctance and concern for a debate "in this our hour of need".

I am certain that he really does not see this as his "hard working", "working hard", "hard", "hard", "hard work"; moment.

Please let him over play this and look as big a fool as Fred Thompson did when he used basically the same approach in the Primaries.

12. No he could still win
if he gives a good performance with semi coherent thoughts. Doesn't have to give brilliant answers as we all know; it's about the one liners, demeanor and presentation. Oh and the color of his shoes as well.

20. I think he could possibly decimate Obama if Obama doesn't keep it simple
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 03:09 PM by Mike Daniels
I don't think Obama needs to keep even with McCain on one-liners and throw aways lines but I can see him getting bogged down in detailed minutia that totally loses listeners.

I'm just not convinced that this is a "given" for Obama and despite all of McCain's goofs of the last two weeks I think he has it in him to dominate this thing beyond any media propping-up.

4. The important question is, will the MSM say he lost the debate?
Or will they say he did very well, and Obama sighed a lot and wore earth-tones?

This mornign Todd was cherry picking the polls and saying that Americans like the way the war is going and that will help McPain.

6. Of course he will lose the debate. But the real question is
Who will the media whores CLAIM won the debate?

After watching those sons of bitches spin Chimpy's pathetic performances against both Gore and Kerry as "wins", would anyone expect them to report the results of this year's debates accurately?

8. He could stumble in drunk...
Puke, flip everyone off, pass out, and he would still be touted as the winner.

9. So did Bush in every debate in both elections but media covered for him said he did well
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 12:44 PM by LaPera
and some even said he won even when it was obvious all Bush was doing was repeating the same lines he was told to over & over to stick in the American peoples mind..

.McCain has the same Bush handlers (Rove) and he'll do the same and much of the press will say McCain did well or won to off set any media who tells the truth and it'll be a draw in peoples minds - for the ones who didn't watch it...and even for some who did, many will be influenced as they always are by the media.

16. Not all of them
no matter how they hemmed hawed; they could not cover for his "hard work" foot in mouth debate. Yes the Media loves to declare every debate for Repubs unless they really screw it up. I am just hoping McCain overplays the "why am I here when my country needs me" shtick. Even Fox-jazeera won't be able to cover for that.

17. Oh man, not this again!
To the debate doubters: Will we never be satisfied until everyone agrees that the election is going to be stolen from the Democrats and that America is already a fascist dictatorship and we are all being brainwashed by the complicit media? Is that what it'll take to make you people happy, my fellow DUers? Look: we ALL know what happened last time. And the time before that. But we now are in a different set of circumstances -- things HAVE changed in 8 years, and not for the better for Republicans like McCain. If the press' venom over the last week hasn't at least given you a shred of hope, then what will it take to open your eyes?

Can't you concentrate on enjoying Obama's surge, recognize that nobody, but NOBODY is talking about McCain in a positive light today, and also help carry on through the election?

Or are we all going to sit in the corner and throw a pity party until Nov. 4th?

Really, I'd like to know.

18. I have no clue what you are trying to read into my note...
Winning the debates is helpful, but doesn't guarantee winning in Nov. since a great many people seem to like having a stupid president.

15. SPin
Obama needs to have people ready for the spin battle.Back In 2000 Gore Won the 1 and 3 Debates
but lost the spin war,and In 2004 Kerry won the debates but lost the spin war.Pundits are all saying debating Is not Obama's strong suit however Obama always was seen as doing well by viewers of the Democratic debates.Get ready for Mccain to go on and on about the Surge. He will say Obama
has no judgement because he opposed the surge.Obama has to look like someone who can be In the oval
office and looks Knowledgable and Calm.

19. McCain is a good debator. Don't underestimate him. His answers are
quick and more susinct that Obama's. Obama need to be less nuanced and shorter in this responces.
