NBC News really showed Palin who was boss last night ...
The McCain camp was trying to punish NBC for alleged anti-McCain coverage- she did interviews with ABC & CBS but not NBC. I expect they thought that NBC would try to give favorable coverage to McCain and Palin after that to show they were fair.

Well, last night NBC showed footage of Palin's idiotic ramblings about Russia to Katie Couric even before CBS aired it. In fact, that was the only part of the interview they showed, and Brian Williams introduced it by saying that he was about to show us a clip that would be constantly replayed on tv and the internet. Then Chuck Todd talked about it, saying that if the McCain camp had had her doing more interviews (zing!) then she might not be "stumbling for words."

It was great to watch, though I can imagine the McCain staff members were pulling their hair out.

1. When you have a turd, there's only so much you can do with it.
You can shape it into something pretty.

You can decorate it.

You can put flowers around it to disguise the smell.

But ultimately, you still have a stinkin' turd.

3. Lol. Best to flush it.
Which is exactly what McCain is wishing he could do, I'll bet.

6. In the end, you accept it's a turd and feed it to bacteria.
I love watching Palin. She is over the top by twice as much as she needed to be. Undoubtedly the result of a McCain temper tantrum when his money folks said Joe the Fine Whine Liberman was a no go.

I kid you not when I say Palin will help define a generation of Presidential campaigns. Shes more of an icon than the helmeted Dukakis riding in the tank.

Those of you alive in 20 years will still be telling stories about this and the wonderment will not have dimmed.

I can face the daisies knowing that.

4. CNN, too
The moment after Anderson Cooper aired the stupid Palin/Couric clip was priceless. The expression on his face was something I wish I'd captured. And then the panel could not hold back the tittering.

Brutal.

9. Can you imagine what NBC payed for the rights to play it?
CBS ain't just gonna hand it over to their top competitor. NBC paid through the nose to be able to have it's viewers laughing at Palin on their networks.
