tonight begins a process whereby america really begins to get a feel for what president obama will be like.

they will get to know him.

they will get comfortable with him.

they will know him as barack obama, not as the black candidate or the democratic candidate.

they may still be scared by the idea of a black man as president, but they will become comfortable with the idea of barack obama as president.

they will start thinking of him as our future leader, in a time when we need leadership.

they will think of him as one of us, not as other.

and they will vote in november.

1. I've been thinking much the same. It's a shaky time, and Obama will show leadership.

The adults are in charge now and maybe we can start to relax a little.
