Have they adjusted the theme tonight to fit the news?

1. Obama should tie every single solitary question to the economy. It can done easily.
I hope he does.

3. Iraq ? We cant afford it! We NEVER could afford it and asshats like McCain never understood that
and still don't get it.

Five years onwards, Mr. & Mrs. America are pretty sick and tired hearing about The Iraq. Not having the money for The Iraq, and Bush-McCain taxcuts for the richest 1% which happened concurrently, helped pop the real estate bubble they were enjoying so much. That is a connection between Republican policies and their present beleaguered condition that they are able to grasp and prepared to accept. That should disqualify John McCain who never met a war he didn't want to go on forever from further consideration for high office.

Splurge Over.

5. That is how he should frame "the surge"
"Yes- the surge seemed to do some good- but look how much it is costing-and will continue to cost- and that money was needed elsewhere..."

I know, I know-according to some DLC type chump that will somehow make him look "weak on defense."

6. You say we won over there - maybe you can explain why we're spending more this year, Sen. McCain
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 05:40 PM by kenny blankenship
on the Iraq War than any previous year? That doesn't look like a victory to me. The costs of your war and your rebranded new and improved packaging for it just go up and up. It was imprudent and unjustified to begin with and you say we should just spend more and more like we're doing for --what? "one hundred years" did you say?
No, Senator the money isn't there and it's not something you can go over and find in the sand like people on your side liked to say before this whole mess started. "The war will pay for itself" you guys said, you should have explained to the people that you meant that we were purchasing our defeat, not our victory.

4. Obama tonight: "I'm glad my opponent showed up"
"Bush and John McCain's brand of de-regulation caused this whole crisis."

"I was suprised to hear that McCain suspended his campaign to focus on the crisis, considering last week he said the fundamentals of the economy were strong. I was even more surprised to find that he was still giving interviews, running ads, and soliciting donations even though he said his campaign was suspended."

"I think it's telling that yesterday, our colleagues seemed to have worked out a satisfactory solution until John McCain showed up."

I expect Obama will work some of these in.:)
