22. Arrogant is the uppity code word, I believe.
And I'm sure McCain is pissed as hell that Obama came out of nowhere and spoiled his last shot at the presidency.

Look for alot of insults from the old man tonite followed by that weird jaw-clenched smile.

is going to smoke o' McDouchebagg.

I hope Obama goes there with Keating5. It's quite timely and I think that it would drive McLobbyist up the wall. McPanic has spent his whole career trying to get past it...:nuke:

3. I think it was because Senator Obama told his friend Joey Lieberman to shut up
One day in the senate Obama took Joey to the back of the room and scolded him - at least I'm pretty sure that's what happened. :7 I wish he'd tell him that again!

9. Gloria Borger. McCain thinks of himself as Mr. Noble and Honorable so anyone against him is
therefore dishonorable which justifies smearing and lying about them in his deranged mind. He views Obama with contempt and shows it.

McCain was pissy with Obama long before the 2008 Prez race - remember the ethics bill stuff where McCain sent Obama (and released to the public even before Obama got it) a nasty-gram.

McCain is a fool and keeps showing it repeatedly.

13. Here is more on the Obama/McCain relationship.
Edited on Fri Sep-26-08 06:05 PM by Pirate Smile
"In a debate in 2006 on ethics in the Senate, which Mr. McCain regarded as a signature issue, he dressed down Mr. Obama and accused the freshman senator of disingenuousness. Mr. Obama called Mr. McCain cranky.

In public, that dispute melted away when the two cocked their fists at each other and hugged for a mutually beneficial photo opportunity. Their rapport has not advanced, and the two have a distant relationship. The two men are very different. Mr. McCain, 71, is a veteran of political and military battles. Mr. Obama, 46, is community organizer turned Ivy League graduate. Mr. McCain has told friends and associates that he views Mr. Obama as something of an upstart whose charmed political life delivered him to the same place Mr. McCain’s decades of public and military service did.

And, associates said, Mr. McCain had always hoped to take on Mrs. Clinton.

-snip-
And no, they said, do not expect Mr. Obama to dust off the lyrics to a song he performed on March 11, 2006, when he appeared as a keynote speaker at the Gridiron Dinner in Washington. His words were written to the tune of “If I Only Had a Brain.”

“When a wide-eyed young idealist, confronts a seasoned realist, there’s bound to be some strain,” Mr. Obama sang perfectly on pitch. “With the game barely started, I’d be feeling less downhearted, if I only had McCain.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/14/us/politics/14senators.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

Full lyrics plus more:

So take a moment and imagine Barack Obama, in white tie, singing the following lyrics to the tune of “If I Only Had a Brain,” from the Wizard of Oz, just weeks after his highly public blowup with McCain, before a crowd of mostly-drunk big shots.

I'm aspiring to greatness, but somehow I feel weightless
A freshman's sad refrain
I could be a great uniter, making ethics rules much tighter
If I only had McCain

I could bring us all together, no storm we couldn't weather,
We'd feel each other's pain
Red and blue wouldn't matter, party differences would shatter
If I only had McCain

Oh why is it so hard, for honest men of good will to agree,
If we ever found a way to strike a deal, would we survive… politically?

When a wide-eyed young idealist, confronts a seasoned realist
There's bound to be some strain
With the game barely started, I'd be feeling less downhearted
If I only had McCain

Still I hope for the better, though I may rewrite my letter
Cause I gotta have McCain

After singing the song, Obama told the gathered press, according to his prepared remarks, “I should say that I really do get along well with Senator McCain. But as you know, not everyone in politics does. Because of his superstar status, his virtuous image, the kind of hero worship treatment he gets from all of you , some of my colleagues call John a prima donna. Me? I call him a role model. Think of it as affirmative action. Why should the white guys be the only ones who are overhyped?”

his little stunt blew up in his face. And then his idiot staffers release an ad saying he won the debate before it has even started! What a bunch of losers.

Might not be to hard to set him off.

18. Yeah, he hates Obama because he asked him to co-sponsor
a bill in 2007 or so and Obama said okay, but then mccain rewrote it to the point that Obama could not support it any longer so he pulled out and the bill died...can't remember if it was immigration or which bill it was now though...

20. He's jealous of Obama pure and simple
Obama is doing everything right..and McJoke is doing everything wrong. And the top issue of the election is not National Security, but an issue that he knows jackshit about. Post-Convention, his campaign has looked pretty shitty...and they clearly can't even make an argument anymore.

21. Did Sarah Palin write your subject line?
Don't hate me, just kidding!

I had to read it three times.....I'm kinda slow...

It reminded me of what Palin told Katie Couric:

"Well it certainly does because our--our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I'm the executive of."

:silly:

25. You're right, McCain dislikes Obama greatly - all stemming from Obama's 1st year in the senate when
he felt the urge to actually get involved and do something. Obama tried to work with McCain on the ethics bill, to which McCain said no way.... when Obama's bill got passed, McCain was PISSED...

27. Tweety said that Obama should go after McCain to make him blow up
He said that Obama should keep needling McCain about being just like Bush and supporting everything Bush has done as a way of getting under his skin and letting loose McCain's nasty temper. The McCain spokesman said that McCain knows that that is what Obama wants and is prepared for it and will not lose it.

29. One thing you can certainly look for ... McCain expressing faux outrage ...
... over some perceived slight from Obama. Victimization is a critical cog in the Right Wing election machine.
