In the same minute: "Obama can't be too cool like he looks now with his shades." & "He has to be
cool like Kennedy." So, which is it??? Buchanan, Matthews, and Mitchell discussing this.

1. They're idiots.
Obama is just right. He's not afraid of a confrontation in debates.

6. What they're referring to
is Marshall McLuhan's (google him) description of "hot" and "cool" ... or at least a bastardization of the idea. What they are saying is that Obama can't help but being "cool" (it's his nature, much like McCain is considered "hot"). Both need to more approach "warm" too cool and too hot hard to identify with. Too much at either end of the spectrum causes viewer fatigue.

The thing is we've seen Obama ratchet his "coolness" up and down when necessary. McCain can do it a certain extent with his "hot" but he always, at least to me, looks like he's trying to hard. I tink then undecideds or leaners will notice the stark differences in each candidate's temperature and will generate to the relative "warmest" and that has to be in this side-by-side comaprison Obama

Is that what they're suggesting?

8. There's no silences allowed in television.
So they must babble to fill space.

9. Cool like some idiot-in-chief showing up in a flight suit for a photo op? That kind of cool?
Geezlepete, Tweets, didn't you call that particular moment an amazing display of leadership?

Short-term memory much?
