Who knew that Gwen Ifill would make Kathy Couric look competent?

The only reason why Sara Palin did better than expected is because Ifill was totally unable to moderate this debate. She let Palin not answer most of the question and allowed her to repeat her talking points again and again. She did not ask any follow up question.

Clearly, the McCain campaign has bought the debates. Tom Brokaw comes next, and he does not even hide his support for McCain.

The only good news is that, despite that, Obama and Biden crush their opponents because their opponents have NOTHING to say.

Obviously, Biden was better, but he was not in position to correct her numerous non-answered questions and errors. It was Ifill's role to do that (at least on non-answered question).

Disappointing.

5. I knew this would happen. I have never been impressed with Ifill. She could have just as easily

not been there. Palin totally didn't answer most questions and Ifill never called her on it. Guess "working the ref" really helped McSame out on this one.
