The Disgrace of the Missing Mary Cheney

This can be turned into a very effective family values issue. Mary is running her father's campaign and had even more right to be onstage last night than her sister.

Either Mary felt

a) that SHE did not want to appear onstage and be a distraction, because of the rabid bigotry of the republican delegates.

or

b) that she was ASKED not to appear onstage, because of the rabid bigotry of the republican delegates.


What does this say about Dick and Lynne Cheney's "family values"? These disgusting people would rather cave into bigots than defend their daughter? Winning is more important to them than standing up for their flesh and blood?

Swing voters, parents of both straight kids and gay kids, will respond viscerally to the idea of a parent NOT standing up when their child is being bullied.

I will bet you that the Cheney's and Bushes know they made a HUGE mistake last night and that she will appear tonight. But the damage is done. This should be repeated endlessly for the next 7 weeks. Why should we trust Cheney to defend us? HE CAN'T EVEN DEFEND HIS OWN DAUGHTER.
