Why Don't I Hear Much About Just How Badly Bush F****ed Up This Country?.....
This country is in a shamble. We are a shadow of our former selves. Are we better off today than we were 8 years ago? Hell No!!!!

But I don't really hear anybody going off on Bush to the extent that he should be gone off on.

Are we trying to ignore his failure? Are we giving Bush a pass again?

We knew what his record was before he took office. He failed at everything he did. He always was bailed out by his Daddy or his Daddy's friends. We could have predicted what has happened to us and this country. The many who did predict were belittled.

I just don't see in the media - from the campaigns - or even here on DU - the contempt that should be heaped upon this failure of a president. Clearly the worst President this country has ever had.

Why are we ignoring him? Why aren't more people calling him out for what he is and what he has done to us? Are we just going to quietly let him slink away from all this calamity and let him build his legacy library?

Why do people still stick up for this guy? Aren't they embarrassed? What am I missing?

2. You're disappointed because the real world is not like DU

Sorry. You won't hear words like "Bu$h", "KKKarl", "Bushitler", "fascist", or "war criminal" very often in real life.

But if you listen at all, you'll hear Obama/Biden hit this pretty often.

3. 'Cuz that's looking backward! We need to look forward! We can't
solve problems by looking backward! What goes unnoticed is we HAVE to look backward to see just where and how we went so wrong, but that goes unmentioned.

9. The Phrase "The Buck Stops Here" Has A Whole New Meaning With *Co......
it means the money is going into their pockets and their rich crony friends pockets. And "Trickle Down" only goes as far as their pockets.

Our treasury has been robbed blind. And the pillaging is still going on.

6. Partly due to our "illustrious leader" in the House proclaiming, "Impeachment is off of the table."
Hey Nancy, thanks for helping to destroy our country with this and passing this TOXIC bail-out bill for BILLIONAIRES. :grr:

7. The very same reason
the MSM literally chokes on the simple statement that the McCain campaign is imploding. They gutted talking points and media perspectives easily employed to cover over, evade, distract or re-interpret just get lamer and thinner to the point of invisibility- but never surrender to a complete snap back to reality.

8. You missed Biden at the debate then. He used every moment the Republican Corporate Media allowed.
Joe Biden took every opening in the debate to tell the public why the Bush administration failed and why McSame would continue those mistakes. Palin tried the ridiculous line the RNC wrote for her about how about the opposition ticket was just lookin backward too much. She said they shouldn't wave their fingers looking back like that. I'm hoping others found that totally lame but you never know.

But the best answer to your question is-- Media Consolidation into right wing hands has been very successful in disseminating pro-administration propaganda and curbing criticism.

50 media companies in the 80's down to only 5 now. http://www.corporations.org/media/

Much easier to control the TV news and news chat. Just put one liberal commentator on for every 6 conservatives and you can pretend you're balanced. You can point to Fox to show you're balanced compared to them.

10. Still Are The American People That Blind That They Don't Realize What Has Happened?......
Where's the real outrage? I don't see it? How many people watched the baseball playoffs yesterday instead of the debate? How many people are ignoring what is going on and justifying it as - "well that's politics. Nothing I can do will change it." How many people still believe that what has happened these last 8 years doesn't effect them?

I agree - that Pelosi taking impeachment off the table is a big factor in this.

But come on. We're not totally imbeciles. We're not totally blind.

I travel internationally a lot. I'm totally embarrassed for this country. I'm impressed by the fact that most of our foreign friends know more about what is going on here than the people that are living this out here.

When will it sink in? How bad does it have to get? Will it take an Oliver Stone production to make people see that Bush was a miserable failure? Is that the only way to get through to them?

Does it take a recession? Worst yet a depression? Bread lines? More wars? Loss of all their savings? I just can't believe that we're so ignorant.

Are American's pacified now because the price of gas at the pump is going down? Is that the gauge of outrage in this country?

I'm ranting now. Over last weekend - I sat back and just tried to observe. NASCAR Races, baseball and football games were all sold out. Malls were teeming with people with filled shopping bags. Restaurants had 45 minute waiting lines.

Are things not as bad as I perceive or as I'm hearing. Are we just trying to ignore all of this? I just don't get it - I'm sorry - I must be dense - but I'm at my wits end - my only saving grace is being able to come to DU and find sympathetic and like minded people. DU is my only link to sanity from what I observe in the day to day world.

People - friends and colleagues - I really respect make fun of me - because I'm so engaged with what is going on. I'm continually being sent RW/Repug propaganda e-mails - lies, innuendo's, half truths - sticking up for the likes of Bush and company. I've shut out so many of them now because they just grate on me. I'm embarrassed for them and feel sorry for them at the same time.

Is it me? Am I taking this too seriously? Should I stop coming to DU? Should I stop filling my head with politics? Should I become more like them? Ignorance is bliss - I guess. I just don't know anymore.
