BREAKING: Obama is Losing in Minnesota!!
Edited on Fri Oct-03-08 01:42 PM by hnmnf
OH NOES!!!

LOL...Lets get a reality check and completely debunk this horseshit SUSA poll which has Obama losing 47-46

SurveyUSA says that Obama is losing voters 18-49: 50-42, but yet he is winning voters over 50: 50-43. When have we EVER seen Obama doing better among older voters than younger voters? Id say close to never. This poll says Obama is plus 5 among voters 18-34, and plus 10 with voters 65+...so he does better among the oldest then the youngest? Can anybody spell bullshit...there, I just Did!

Obama is apparently losing the female vote...I almost typed female bull because I was going to call it bullshit

In Minneapolis and St. Paul, Obama is losing by three. Do any of you believe that? Neither do I. So all together now....

BULLSHIT

1. Why is everyone hyping Survey USA when other polls show Obama with a big lead...
I think the biggest is in CNN or Quinnipiac.

3. Don't like the current poll? Wait 2 hours and there'll be another one...
...with numbers and trends that totally contradict the poll that precedes it.

9. Funny. Reminds me of the last time I went to my doctor. I was disappointed that I had only lost
2 lbs. after dieting for a whole month. He said, "You don't like it? Come with me."
Took me to another examing room, told me to get on the scale. I lost another two lbs.
in one minute.

Magic!

6. The media who read DU are going to fucking pick up on all of this Minnesota bullshit
and run with it. They are only too thankful to pick on an outlier poll.

and then, you'll be scratching your ass and yelling......"I just kid!"

Not constructive!

7. The Poll is probably BS.. but I DO think he does best with youngest & oldest
voters. In a lot of polls.. he does really well with the College kids up to about 30 or 35.. then he loses the "executive" agers (35 - 50 or 55) because they're buying the "my taxes are going up BS. Then he wins back the older voters who have seen their 401K's, investments, and home values tank in the past month.. and they're terrified of the economy and are old enough to remember the great depression - or stories about it.

The oldest & youngest voters aren't high earners (usually) so the tax issue doesn't affect them as much. Our job is to educate the 35 - 55 year olds that McCain is lying his ass off to most American's about taxes going up.. and unless they make over $600K, they're fine. McCain can have all of the people in the country who earn over 600K.. all less then 1% of them.

11. I'll use a CA SUSA poll to prove my point
He is up 10 points there. He is up 25 points among the youth, but is tied among 65+ voters. Obama's problem has always been with elderly voters who arent sure about him.

8. RCP Average Obama +5
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/mn/minnesota_mccain_vs_obama-550.html

I'm not worried one bit. If anything polling overall the last few weeks has been wonderful for Obama almost everywhere.

Yesterday, McCain conceded Michigan. So don't be too concerned about single polls.

It happens so let's just look at the preponderance of evidence pointing to a different conclusion and move on.

27. If I was McCain I would assume that I am now going to lose and try and
leave with as much class as possible.

I would come out with a jobs plan, a tax simplification plan, and a help the cities plan.

I wouldn't attack Obama anymore and head into the election knowing that George Bush made it impossible to win and just try and be as classy as possible - it couldn't hurt and might get you some more votes.

Here's the problem with the question - your 72 years old and not in the top of your game, you have embarassing family problems and embarassments in your life that are best left sleeping - why would you want to bring this all up and drive so hard to be President?

What is the absolute ambition of this guy that has to win?

Just like Bush he fell way short of his father higher mark and he needs this to prove that he wasn't the fuck up that his earlier life proved. The parallels on motivation are so similar that it is scary. From his point of view why does it matter so much to him? Its not going to have any impact on Iraq - that ending is already written, he isn't going to be able to get anything passed by Congress - Congress is going to be firmly Democratic - Your old and don't have the stamina to start a major new learning experience at this point in your life (lets fact it anyone who becomes President has to learn a whole lot of new stuff). In fact the stress is going to age you 20 years - like everyone else - and in this case kill you - so why would you care so much?

20. Not going to happen. Here's a few good reasons.
We, as a state, historically have among the highest turnout in the nation. (High turnout favors you-know-who.)

We have a nifty system for same-day registration on election day. It works great, and increases turnout even more. (More states need to look at how we do it, because I believe we do it best.)

PAPER TRAILS! (We use optical scanners at the polling places, but all ballots are saved, and recounts are conducted by hand.)

Secretary of state is now a Democrat. (But even under the former Republicon SOS, she couldn't mess with the elections because the LAW takes the electoral process VERY seriously here.)

We ALWAYS vote for the democrat.

Last, but not not least, we're awesome!

24. I work on a college campus
And the youth support here for Obama is unreal. They are frothing at the bit to vote. I also don't know of one female in R/L (including one that voted for Dumbya twice) that ISN'T voting for Obama here. Well, aside from my sister but A) She's actually in Michigan and B) She's a fundie idiot.
