Helen Kushnick was Jay Leno's producer when Carson retired. She actually cancelled a Tonight show during the Republican convention because it would cut into Leno's time because it ran too long. She was eventually fired and died of cancer some years later. Read the book The Late Shift by Bill Carter for more info...

Did you read Carter's book The Late Shift? About how she blackballed guests if they went on Dave or Arsenio's show before Jay?
