Is this a cause for concern? Re: Voter registration discrepancy on birthdate
I got an email from the Obama campaign asking me to register or check my registration, which I had already done at VoterView, but I decided to doublecheck anyway.

Well, I went through the link provided by the Obama campaign email, which asked me for my name and address, and indeed I am registered with the correct name and address, but with a different birthdate. My first thought was to dismiss it, but since I live in a swing state and with all the dirty tricks we're already hearing rumors about, I thought I would ask to see whether anyone here had a similar experience, or if this is anything worth being even the slightest bit concerned about.

This is the link provided in the Obama emails:

TIA for your comments.

3. By any chance, does it have your birthdate as November 30?

11. Whew. That makes me feel much better. Surely it's just some weird glitch
in the registration database, then.

Now I feel kind of embarrassed, too. Can I blame my minor paranoia on bush, somehow? :)

Same with mine this is a BS site. I think I will go over to the true Obama site and report it.

2. Questions?
My first question would be how did you verify that the email you received actually came from a valid Obama site? Are you sure the site it sent you to is valid? If you have questions about your registration it would make more sense to contact your registrar of voters office and verify that your information is correct. The Republicans are well known for all sorts of voter suppression tactics so there is a possibility this was sent by a Republican source just to confuse you. Again if you are worried verify your information with your local office as soon as possible.

7. It came from an email address I'm familiar with,
associated with the New Mexico campaign, with the same name and everything, so I'm certain it's from them. Here is the return address:

From: Adrian Saenz, NM.BarackObama.com (newmexico@barackobama.com)
Sent: Sat 10/04/08 6:27 PM
Reply-to: newmexico@barackobama.com

But I think I will do what you suggest and double check with my county clerk office on Monday. I voted in the primaries, but who knows what election day might hold. Even if I have to re-register, I will do it. I just really hope this is some glitch and not widespread, because the vast majority of people would have no idea about such a discrepancy, or even that it would matter.

4. I would make sure they have it right.
You don't want to be accidentally disenfranchised.

Go to the state's (or county's) official site. Or call them.

9. Bogus
This site has to be a bogus site. I just voted a couple of weeks ago in Vermont primaries with no problem. The site also got my birth date wrong. I would be willing to wager money that this is just a move by the Republicans to confuse people and maybe to create lists of people they can challenge at the polls. Remember if your right to vote is challenged at the polling place you still have the right to submit a provisional ballot. Don't let anybody interfere with your right to vote.

16. it's not a bogus site
the voteforchange.com site is certainly associated with the Obama campaign.
They do however have a problem with their database or software.

5. Mine too!
The first time that I went to the Obama campaign office they made me (and I am glad) update my voter's registration information because I had moved. So I got my new card in the mail thinking everything was okay until I decided to check the site - they have the wrong birthdate. I just decided to send in another registration form. I refused to be stopped. This is crazy.

I thought I was the only one.

6. You should confirm with your local voter registration office.

I was going to recommend using New Mexico's voter registration website but it doesn't include date of birth as field to confirm registration.

13. I'd get it checked out--before the registration deadline
Mine was correct.

Missouri's deadline is the 8th, I believe. It is easy enough to call the cmpaign office or make a trip there to secure your right to vote.
