Why is McCain taking the weekend off 30 days before the election?
This makes absolutely no sense unless he really is ill and is afraid to be out in public. Are they preparing him for a "Weekend at Bernie's" type gig?

3. He looks worn out and ashen. He looked like a cadaver in the last debate.

4. Nothing new
He takes almost every weekend off. Suppose he will keep a schedule about like Bush has or even work less if he should get elected, God forbid.

14. Indeed. It's more physical than ever ...
to campaign for president.

Which is good. Because "it's hard work".

Campaigns should be exhausting, hard, complex and require the candidates to be smart, passionate, honest and focused.

That's why Obama is going to lose.

Any way we can make campaigning even harder?

I think McCain is ill. Everything is pointing in that direction. They have to hide it. If he is less than in perfect health he could not stay on the ticket yet replacing him would be impossible at this late date - Catch 22. Watch the news Monday and the debate Tuesday. I hope McCain does try to hold on and cause his condition to go untreated in a desperate attempt to hold on until the election.

13. Does it help McCain to show up?
Maybe they've finally hit on a tactic that will work: Make people forget about John McCain.
seriously though, I bet the less he's seen the higher his favorable rating goes.

15. He's actually off most weekends...
He normally only does 1 to 2 events compared to Obama's packed schedule.. He's just contemptuous and thinks he deserves the election. Small minded, asshole.

16. Does campaigning in person actually help him?
Seems like whenever Obama makes a personal appearance, his numbers go up.

When McCain does, his numbers go down. The more you see him, the less you like him.

He is also pretty old and unhealthy looking, so he probably wears out easily.

20. He's huddled with his "braintrust" to map out their last stand
They KNOW that if they don't turn this thing around this week, they are toast. Expect everything they've got left to start flooding the airwaves starting Monday. Watch how all the surrogates start going after Ayers, Wright, Rezko -- the whole works.

But it won't work. McCain is Custer at the little big horn.

21. To practice getting his lies straight?
For Gods sake the old fart is 72 years old and his campaign is sliding downhill fast with no end in sight! He picked a nut case for his running mate... his poll numbers are tanking and he looked like warmed over death at the debates... He really looks ill and I think he just needs a nap!

27. It Has Gone Largely Unnoticed
But throughout the campaign, he has taken either part or all of the weekends off. Also, he generally only does one rally or event a day.
