McCain-- NOT Obama-- has ties with Commies to explain!!!

McCain desperately wants to change from issues-- on which he is an ignorant fraud-- to slander-- on which he is an old pro-- by attacking Obama for non-existent ties to a then Weather Underground bomber....Obama-- THEN EIGHT YEARS OLD-- may not have known about that, given that the man at issue was AT THE TIME OBAMA MET HIM, thirty years later, a prominent Chicago citizen.

BUT WE DO KNOW THAT JOHN MCCAIN BETRAYED HIS FELLOW POWS TO THE HANOI LEADERSHIP. I had long said that we have had enough of four decades ago Vietnam War interfering in today's issues in the 2004 election, and hopefully no more in 2008. But that's all McCain has to run on so he's playing it to the hilt.

HERE'S WHY THAT MAKES ME LIVID:

I consider it my singularly useful contribution to the Vietnam War issues to be, I believe, the first to get the Hanoi regime to say that they NO LONGER consider the POWs "war criminals....AND THEN THEY BROADCAST MY EXCHANGE WITH THEM ON HANOI RADIO, making it official.

But it was not long before that public statement that Le Duan, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Communist Party, had insisted that the American POWs they hold are indeed war criminals and deserve no better than the Guantanamo-like violations of the Geneva Conduct of War Laws. He argued: "You cannot deny that they are war criminal. We have testimony from the son of the very chief of that entire flotilla in the Tonkin Gulf from where all the crimes against our women and children originate."

WE CAN FEEL SORRY FOR MCCAIN'S SUFFERING AS A POW-- AS I DO....BUT WE CANNOT FORGET THAT HE IS ONE OF THE *FEW* POWS WHO TESTIFIED AGAINST ALL THE POWS AND ALLOWED HANOI TO USE HIM AS PROOF THAT THEY WERE WAR CRIMINALS ENTITLED TO NO BETTER TREATMENT THAN THE TORTURE AND ABUSE THEY SUFFERED....HIS CLAIM TO HEROISM AND CHARACTER WAS AN ISSUE WHEN HE BLOCKED ALL EFFORTS TO INVESTIGATE THE FATE OF REMAINING MISSING IN ACTION PILOTS AND FORCED THE REAGAN ADMINISTRATION TO DEEP-SIX ALL POW TESTIMONY AND INTELLIGENCE SOURCES THAT LINK HIM TO HANOI AS A COLLABORATOR.

So if McCain wants to bring up the 1970s, let him explain HIS connections to Hanoi at the time rather than try to link Obama to SDS Weatherman underground crimes when Obama was only EIGHT YEARS OLD and out of the country!!!!
