What kind of president would John McCain be?
We saw it this morning on MTP.

McCain was being interviewed in Iowa. He was asked about Sarah Palin's qualifications, and how some people - even some conservative people - had spoken out about it, saying that she clearly was unqualified.

McCain's response? "I haven't seen that. Maybe some Georgetown elites are saying that (i.e., Parker), but our polls aren't saying that, we get 20,000 people at our rallies."

Now stop and think. Isn't this the same type of presidency we've had for 8 years? (1) Don't pay any attention to the facts. We Americans saw JUST LAST WEEK a guy from the Dallas Morning News (hardly a Georgetown elite) talking about how he had come to the conclusion that he could not vote for John McCain because of Sarah Palin! And there are many others who have expressed misgivings. (2) Stay uninformed. Does McCain not watch the news? None of his Blackberry Brigade fills him in on what people are saying? and (3) when cornered, just lie repeatedly. "It's just Washington elite saying those things about Sarah." Lather, rinse, repeat and pretty soon the entire blogosphere is believing that lie.

Isn't this the Bush strategy? Fire, ready, aim. Make a decision that aligns with your own preconceptions about the world. Find people willing to support that decision. Sift through the mountains of information available today and cherry-pick those nuggets that seem to support your decision. And ignore EVERYTHING that contradicts it. When someone questions you on your "evidence", lash out angrily.

This is the presidency of George W Bush, and would be the presidency of John McCain.

3. That's best summed up by looking at how he ran his campaign.
Past performance is usually a pretty good indicator of future performance.

5. If someone from the Dallas Morning News has misgivings about McCain
then that REALLY says something. This paper has been in the tank for the Repubs for so long.

6. McNuts displayed a lot of his angry side in that interview. He
physically respondd to that question about Sarah being criticized by Pubs by leaning way back in his chair and tensing up. I honestly expected him to start YELLING at that reporter! In a part of the interview they didn't show this AM he instantly switched from leaning way back in that chair to leaning way forward, in your face style, when he was trying to put forth HIS opinion.

All I can think is that everybody on the inside of his campaign must be constantly hammering in into his head "If you lose it and start yelling criticisms in public, YOU"RE DONE!"
