They both like to surround themselves with lapdogs and favor loyalty over expertise. Palin more or less tried to clean house of anyone in Wasilla who she didn't hire (librarians, museum directors, etc.), and then put unqualified people into high ranking positions in the Alaska governemnt - including the agriculture department, a high school classmate who's expertise in the field consisted of liking cows as a child. With Bush, obviously we've seen Heckuvajob Brownie and infinte others.

The both also think that consulting God is their chief foreign policy expert.
