Kerry dumps over the chessboard and picks up the pool cue
Ain't gon' let Cheney's ugliness play itself out or speak for itself. Took it right to him, hard, fast, clever, well timed, convincing, passionate, direct, indignant, mean, hard, smart.

Did he lose a few points from the judges over at the poli sci dept. cocktail mixer for strategic uncomplexity and reduced subtleness? Maybe, but guess what? They're going to vote for him anyway.

Did he pick up some votes from the pissed off base? Did he reenergize the rank and file, who may be tired from defending him for the last month You bet. Will Rovie think twice about hitting below the belt, now that he knows what he's going to get if he does?

You better fucking believe it.

12. So why haven't they been delivering before now?
I'm still waiting for the Campaign to stop hiding behind diplomacy. They need to be sharper... MUCH sharper in their attack from now on.

16. Who cares? The fact is that the winning strategy has been embraced
and the one we were all bitching about has been rejected. We all, especially those of us who urged a change, owe Kerry kudos for doing what needed to be done. Hindsight is for mediawhores.

6. JK said, Cheney said I was unfit for duty last night. Well, we'll see
Edited on Thu Sep-02-04 11:49 PM by jean
(paraphrasing my brains out - help me people!) what the voters think makes someone more fit for duty - four deferments or two tours of duty.

Also, at the end of the speech he said (massive paraphrase) I won't let my fitness for office be defined by those who didn't answer the call to serve when they had the chance

8. In strict fairness to Cheney -
He received 5 deferments. Don't want to minimize his cowardice.

7. That they acknowledged this election's importance...
was impressive to me. He didn't just give platitudes about defending liberty. He said that everything important to us is on the line, and then listed it. Everyone knows it is the truth.

Also liked him comparing what Bush said four years ago with what he's actually done. Their comeback will, of course, be that 9/11 changed everything, but it is still a good thing to point out and make some hay with.

15. I love the fact that JK and JE had the last word tonight!

The last images for the evening were relaxed, honest and friendly.

The Chimp rising from his cage and the whole zoo scenerio was just too much for my taste.

Hit um hard Democrats!

We all have to go out and work like hell in this election.
