15. hey there - the lady reporter was out grabbing whatever interviews
she could and ended up talking to an old guy from Montana.

She: So, are you enjoying the convention? Been out to see the city?

He: Oh, yes. Yes it's been a good time.

She: Have you been photographed with any black people yet?

He: No. . . . But I wouldn't mind it.

She: Do you have very many black people in Montana?

He: No. Don't see too many of 'them.' My kids were pretty old before they ever saw 'one.'

I'm probably missing some of the convo, but it was hilarious. And he was utterly serious, just chatting about them black folk.

10. Jon nailed it with
the Cosa Nostra remark. That's exactly what it is and McCain knows it only too well. Hell, he's part of it.

12. Absolutely
Personally, I'm looking forward to the Democrats engaging in the "hackfest" - As Jon put it.

McCain, despite his political positions, is incredibly endearing with his occasional honesty. Lesson there for someone.

19. Jon Stewart was great tonight
I liked how he responded to the video of Zell Miller condemning Democrats for trying to take down the president. He used Zell's voice and said something like "How dare you field a candidate during an election year!! This is a time of war, we can't have voting!" I'm paraphrasing, but it was classic. He also got a dig in on Dick Cheney. They showed Lynn Cheney talking about how when other boys did the twist and drove back and forth, "Dick didn't do it." Then Stewart said something about when young men were going to Vietnam, and cut back to Lynn Cheney saying "Dick didn't do it". Looks like Jon Stewart has the gloves off tonight too!

20. Zell was completely trashed
It was a sight to behold. My apolitical girlfriend and friend were sitting and they all agreed - he sounded like a senile crazy old coot and really turned them off to the Republican party.
