" Divided Government is better" Meme that the GOP would like to sell voters!
Edited on Tue Oct-07-08 04:59 PM by FrenchieCat
This is the next tactic coming from the McCain camp at the 11th hour. An offer to voters to split their ticket (voting for McCain at the top), because they see what having the entire government ran by one party can bring (pointing to the first 6 years of the Bush admin).

To that I say....

WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING GRIDLOCK!

WE WANT A GOVERNMENT THAT WORKS FOR US,
NOT ONE LOCKED INTO NON ACTION.

We need to get active on these talking points, because this is what you will begin to hear
like right about now from McCain and the Surrogates. We can't let them psyche voters into thinking, Oh yeah, we need to keep a check and balance system.

4. Agreed-NO DIVIDED GOVERNMENT
Unless people really WANT "gridlock" for another 4-8 years (which FWIW I don't honestly believe most people voting this year want). Also, the Bush/Cheney "excesses" of the past 6-8 years have mainly been brought about through extra-constitional non-Congressional means and the Democrats were largely ignored and continually thwarted in their attempts to "do" good things for our country by Bush/Cheney and their allies in Congress so divided government during the last 2 years didn't help "check" anything (not that THEY care much about the concept anyway).
